Multiply is a guided series of formation experiences designed to help ministry directors identify, invite, and invest in a network of mission-aligned leaders. Grow your team from 4 to 12 to 36+ following the methodology of Jesus.
The Process

The kerygmatic experience. Offered as either four at-church Sessions or as a retreat, Seek invites participants into a renewed encounter with Jesus through the themes of community, creation, redemption, and relationship. This reawakening to the Good News lays the spiritual foundation for authentic ministry.

A series of workshops focused on building your parish Accompaniment Team. These workshops foster unity in mission, provide practical tools for collaboration, and clarify the various roles with an Accompaniment Team to help each team member discern how they are personally called to support others in their journey of faith.
Invest in 3
Before you begin Multiply, you will prayerfully identify and invite a core team of four: yourself and three others.
Before beginning Multiply in your parish, it is important to prayerfully prepare your own heart and mind for the experience. The accompaniment of others is not something we can do on our own, rather it must be done in partnership with the Lord. Taking time to discern what Multiply will look like in your own parish and becoming familiar with the resources you will be using within the process is a crucial step.

Once you have become familiar with the Multiply process yourself, you will then schedule a Visit with our team. We want to accompany you, as you accompany others! The Visit will allow us the opportunity to get to know you, as well as answer questions, and provide concrete, hands-on support. Click here to schedule your Visit.
Once you have completed your Visit, you are then ready to purchase and download the at-church content, which is a 1 time license fee. You will need to purchase the Visit Leader Guide for Multiply, Seek for Adults Content PDF, Root At-Church Content for Adults PDF, the Beside Mission Workshop PDF, Attitudes and Skills Workshop PDF, and Gifts and Roles Workshop PDF. You will need these to help prepare your core team and can share the downloaded PDFs with them. Click here to place your order.
Once you have an understanding of Multiply and have met with our team, you are ready to begin the process of identifying potential core team members. Just as Jesus accompanied all twelve apostles, he also gave special attention to Peter, James, and John. In the same way, your core team will walk with you, helping to design and implement intentional, engaging, and lasting formation experiences.
While it may be tempting to ask parishioners who are already serving in several different ministries to join you in this process, consider those who are actively practicing their faith and hungry for connection, but have not yet been plugged into the community. We recommend creating a list of 6-10 names of potential core team members to pray over and discern who you would like to have further conversations with. The creation of your list of names is not something you have to do alone, especially if you are struggling to identify potential core team members. Asking other members of your parish leadership, including clergy, staff, or group leaders, to introduce you to 2-3 people who might be a good fit is a great option. Whether you already have a list of names top of mind or if you will need time to do this, the identification of your core team should be a process rooted in prayer.
Once you have identified potential core team members, you will have the opportunity to invite them to become part of your core team. Whether you are inviting them over the phone or in person, it is important to first let them know that you have been praying about who would be the right person to help lead this process with you, and that the Lord brought their name to mind. Invite them to meet with you for a Visit in which you will get to know them a little more and discuss the details of the commitment. They do not have to commit to the process until after the Visit.
Using the Visit Leader Guide for Multiply, you will get to meet with and listen to the joys, hopes, fears, and anxieties of those you are inviting. This will allow you to begin building a new or deeper relationship with them, provide an opportunity for you to share the vision and process of Multiply, and invite them to consider being a part of the experience as a core team member.
Not everyone you identify as being a potential core team member will be a yes, which is okay and why we suggest creating a list of 6-10 names. Part of the Visit is discussing with them what they already have going on in their life and discerning if journeying alongside others through Multiply, would be a good fit for them at this time. Be sure to give them to the time commitment associated with Multiply in choosing the 12 and forming the 36+.
Do not ask them to commit to being a core team member within your Visit. Invite them to pray about the opportunity and let them know you will be reaching out within a week to check in and hear their response. Even if they are not able to say yes to your invitation, they can still play an important role in praying for those that will be embarking on this journey.
Once you have your core team, it is important to allow them time to become familiar with the resources used within Multiply. Provide your core team members with the PDFs to the resource content for the Visit, Seek for Adults, Root for Adults, and the Beside Workshops. Give them time to read through everything, encouraging them to jot down questions they have about any of the material.
Once they have become familiar with the Multiply process, gather your core team together to discuss any questions, thoughts, or ideas them may have. This would also be a great time to discuss and decide on your Multiply schedule and begin planning what roles you and your core team members will play in executing the process.

Choose 12
With your core team established, you will work together to prayerfully identify and invite a group of 12 people to join you and your core team in the Multiply process.
Now that your core team is prepared, you will begin the process of prayerfully discerning the names of those that could be invited to experience Multiply as your 12. We suggest having each core team member bring a list of 6-10 names, comparing the names of those on each list, and narrowing down who you would like to invite to consider being a part of your 12. After you have your final list, you and your core team can begin inviting them to meet you for a Visit. The Visit will be done by two members of the core team, so work together to split the list of names and complete the Visits.
Using the Visit Leader Guide for Multiply, your core team will have the opportunity to meet with and listen to the joys, hopes, fears, and anxieties of those you are inviting. Similar to when inviting your core team, part of the Visit is discussing with them what they already have going on in their life and discerning if Multiply is a good fit for them at this time. It is also important to let them know that their participation in Multiply, as a part of the 12, will include them becoming part of an Accompaniment Team that will help you form future cohorts of adults through Multiply. Give them the schedule your core team prepared, as this is an important part of discerning their ability to commit.
Do not ask them to commit to being a part of your 12 during your Visit. Invite them to pray about the opportunity and let them know you will be reaching out within a week to check in and hear their response. Even if they are not able to say yes to your invitation, they can still play an important role in praying for those that will be embarking on this journey.
Once your group of 12 is established, order the physical materials and supplies needed for Seek for Adults, Root for Adults, and the Beside Workshops. You can place your order for the Seek for Adults Guide Books and Root Books here. The supplies needed for Seek for Adults, Root for Adults, and the Beside Workshops can be found in the content PDFs.
You are now ready to begin running Multiply!
Once your initial 12 have completed the process, they will be sent out in pairs to invite at least three more people each to go through the journey. It takes time, but our prayer is that over the course of two to three years, your parish will grow from an initial team of 12, to 36, and eventually to your own group of 72 well-formed leaders, on fire with the Gospel and ready to respond wherever the Spirit leads.
Following the same process as the 12, a new cohort of Multiply can begin at your parish.
Form 36+
Once your initial team has completed the process, they will be sent out in pairs to invite at least three more people each to go through the journey of Multiply.
You will begin the process of inviting by prayerfully discerning the names of those that could be invited to experience Multiply as your 36+. We suggest having each member of the 12 bring a list of 6-10 names, comparing the names of those on each list, and narrowing down who you would like to invite to consider being a part of your 36+. After you have your final list, the Visit will be done by two members of the 12, so work together to split the list of names and complete the Visits. Your core team will mentor the 12 in this process.
Using the Visit Leader Guide for Multiply, your 12 will have the opportunity to meet with and listen to the joys, hopes, fears, and anxieties of those you are inviting. Similar to when inviting your core team and the 12, part of the Visit is discussing with them what they already have going on in their life and discerning if Multiply is a good fit for them at this time. Give them the schedule of your next cohort of Multiply, as this is an important part of discerning their ability to commit.
Do not ask them to commit to being a part of your 36+ during the Visit. Invite them to pray about the opportunity and let them know one of the Visit leaders will be reaching out within a week to check in and hear their response. Even if they are not able to say yes to the invitation, they can still play an important role in praying for those that will be embarking on this journey.
Once your group of 36+ is established, order the physical materials and supplies needed for Seek for Adults, Root for Adults, and the Beside Workshops. You can place your order for the Seek for Adults Guide Books and Root Books here. The supplies needed for Seek for Adults, Root for Adults, and the Beside Workshops can be found in the content PDFs.
You are now ready to begin running another cohort of Multiply!
Once the cohort has completed the process, it will be important to have another Visit to help them discern where they are called to share the gospel with others. They may be called to help with the next cohort of Multiply or they may be called in another direction. Multiply is not designed to funnel leaders into a specific ministry. Rather, it equips them to hear and respond to God’s call, whatever form that may take, and provides the tools to do it effectively.
